Product Manager - Growth

Hornet is the digital home of the gay community, focused on helping its members express themselves authentically online and creating meaningful connections around the globe.

In order to help get our product into the hands of as many gay, bisexual and transgender men around the world, and to capture some of the value we’re providing in improved revenue, we’re looking for a product manager with exceptional growth hacking skills to join our product team!

Your responsibilities:

  • Plan, launch, measure and optimize programs, features, AB tests and campaigns to increase retention and active usage of Hornet
  • Own the in-app monetization strategy, controlling everything from the user experience down to the prices charged in specific geos
  • Work closely with product and marketing to constantly refine the messaging around the value proposition of Hornet
  • Drive user and competitive research to uncover user segments, pick up market trends, and identify customer needs
  • Create and discover new levers, channels and strategies to grow Hornet’s user base or generate more revenue per user
  • Exhibit sound product judgement to influence the overall roadmap
  • Execute a structured and formulaic process of prioritizing backlogs; clearly communicate to other stakeholders around the prioritization process
  • Live and breath data. You know how all your AB tests are performing, which efforts have been successful and which have failed and why.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in a growth related product management role for a mobile app. Ideal candidate comes from a startup background, a mobile gaming focus, or both.
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative modeling skills with a focus on data-driven decision making
  • Direct experience with subscription or micro-payment monetization strategies
  • Outstanding written, oral, and organizational ability
  • Must have the passion to self-motivate, the guile to sell your ideas to other stakeholders, and the drive to execute those ideas cross-functionally
  • Ability to operate in an entrepreneurial environment, to thrive at an extremely fast pace and to find a way to get things done
  • Comfortable to work in distributed teams
  • B.A., or B.S. An MBA is strongly preferred
